Some 15 Mortar shells were fired from Pakistan into Indian controlled Kashmir. Indian troops returned fire  Officers from both countries then got on the hot-line and discovered that the Pakistanis did not know who was firing from their side of the Line of Control. The Pakistanis said they would investigate. The most likely suspects are Islamic radicals, angry at Pakistan's increased restrictions on Islamic radical operations against Indian control of Kashmir. The Islamic radicals continue to fight in Kashmir, but are being ground down by more numerous security forces. Today, such operations left ten Islamic radicals dead.
