Indonesia, unable to buy new arms from Western supplies because of decades of dictatorship and military atrocities, has turned more and more to Russia. The Indonesian Marines have bought 10,000 AK-101, a dozen Mil-2 helicopters and a number of BTR-80A amphibious armored vehicles. The AK-101 looks like the AK-47, but uses the same 5.56mm ammunition as the M-16s that Indonesia already has many of.
