Patria Vehicles of Finland has developed a new 8x8 armored carrier which they refer to as the Armored Module Vehicle or AMV. This is based on the design of the 6x6 Patria XA armored personnel carrier, of which 700 have been produced. The 8x8 AMV has the engine at the front right and the driver at the front left. The AMV will be offered in several different heights so the potential customer can get as much internal volume as it wants. The AMV could be fitted with a variety of turrets, including two-man combat turrets with 25mm or 30mm guns, or the 120mm twin-barrel AMOS mortar system.--Stephen V Cole
